Programme Information
Will applicants be informed of both their F1 and F2 placements for their 2-year programme at the point of match to programme?
Yes, except for a minority of new programmes which may not yet have a confirmed linked F2 rotation at the point of programme allocation”
If no (to above question), how and when will they be matched to F2 placements?
If F2 rotations are not known at the point of allocation they will be allocated by the Foundation School by 31st January 2026 during the F1 year.
Foundation doctors will be surveyed for specialties and Trusts they are interested in, but no formal preferencing process will be offered.
Will foundation doctors work in the same hospital/location for their 2-year training programme?
The majority spend F1 and F2 at different Trusts and sites.
Does the foundation school allow F2 Abroad?
No
Does the foundation school offer FPP programmes?
No
If an applicant is approved for pre-allocation to the foundation school, will they also be pre-allocated to group or programme?
Applicants will be pre-allocated to a Trust (sub-group) which is nearest to the address provided on their pre-allocation application for the F1 year only.
Does the school allow matching to group or programme for linked applications?
No
Does the school hold a welcome event for newly allocated F1s?

An online welcome event will be offered by the Foundation School during the programme preferencing window. Trusts will also provide various local arrangements at this time
