Eligibility

This section of the form asks you for your primary medical qualification (PMQ) evidence, language skills, identity document, evidence of right to work in the UK and details about your GMC registration status.

Supporting documents must be uploaded within the designated sections of the application form on Oriel at the time of application. Do not upload evidence to Oriel in .zip file format.

You must upload evidence that you have obtained or will obtain an acceptable medical degree. This is commonly known as your primary medical qualification. This must be in English, otherwise you must also provide an appropriate translation in addition to the original document.

You must demonstrate skills in the English language within the timeframe set out in the eligibility guidance.

If the country of your medical school or university does not appear on the GMC list of countries where English is the first and native language, you must provide either an IELTS Test Report Form (TRF) Number or OET candidate number.

If providing an OET result you must ensure that you have already shared your exam results with the UKFPO.

You must ensure that you upload a clear scanned copy of your official photographic government issued identity document.

In this section you must indicate your current right to work status in the UK.

You must select the most appropriate option for your right to work circumstances and upload the evidence of your right to work or provide your share code.

This section will take you through a series of questions to determine your current registration status with the GMC and how you will comply with the GMC requirements for provisional registration.

If you have qualified (or will qualify) from a medical school outside the UK, EEA or Switzerland, you must also provide information about your PLAB status and upload the required evidence and your GMC reference number where indicated.

If you have previously resigned or been removed from a foundation training programme in the UK, you must upload a completed copy of the UKFP 2027 Re-application to Foundation Training form. This requirement only applies to applicants who commenced in post.

Non-urgent advice: Advice to applicants

You will not be able to upload additional documents or make changes to your application once it has been submitted. It is your responsibility to check the information that you are submitting as part of the application and to ensure it meets the requirements specified. Failure to upload the required documents will result in your application being deemed ineligible.

Do not send copies of any physical documents via post as these are not required. You simply need to ensure you have followed the guidance and include all the correct information on your application form. We regret that we will be unable to return physical documents sent via post.
