UKFP 2027 Eligibility applications – Advice to applicants

You are advised to begin your application at the earliest possible convenience and to familiarise yourself with the requirements for providing supporting evidence.

You must submit your eligibility application during the application window specified in the eligibility application timeline. Ensure you submit your application early to avoid any last-minute problems with internet connections and/or local computer networks. If you do not submit on time, the UKFPO will not grant an extension under any circumstances, including in progress or partially completed applications

The UKFPO does not provide a pre-checking service and will not review the content or supporting evidence of applications prior to submission. The UKFPO will not contact you if the information you have provided on Oriel is incomplete or incorrect.

You must upload required documents within the designated sections of the application form on Oriel before submitting your application form. Ensure that you have checked your application and supporting documents thoroughly before submitting your application.

If you are deemed eligible or eligible with conditions, you must also complete the separate application for the two-year Foundation Programme for 2027 on Oriel. The application dates can be found in the main Foundation Programme application timeline.

The UKFPO reserves the right to remove any applicant from the application process if new information becomes available which affects their eligibility status. Information supplied by an applicant and the resulting status may be shared with other organisations involved in the application process.

Each year some eligibility applicants are deemed ineligible due to small errors or omissions on their application form. You are reminded to carefully read the guidance on the UKFPO website to ensure that you fully understand the information and supporting evidence required as part of the application process.

Once you submit your application, you cannot make any changes.

If you realise you have made a mistake on your application after submitting, you cannot amend it.

If you need to correct a mistake on a submitted application, you must:

1) Register a new Oriel account, using a different email address

2) Submit a new application within the application window

3) Request to withdraw the application with the mistake

You must also email the UKFPO at england.helpdesk.foundationprogramme@nhs.net as soon as possible to confirm you have submitted a new application and include the details of the application to be withdrawn.

This is not the preferred process, so you should take care to complete your application correctly the first time.

The Oriel application system is compatible with Safari v12+, Google Chrome v77+, Edge and Firefox v68+. Use one of these browsers when using Oriel – preferably the latest version.

You should only log into Oriel via one browser at a time. This includes not keeping Oriel actively logged in at the same time on multiple devices.

Avoid using a mobile device to complete your application. Functionality has not been built into the system to support mobile browsers.

If you think there’s a technical error, try a different browser, for example, Google Chrome. Or try deleting your cache and/or browser history. If the issue continues, contact the technical helpdesk: oriel@hicom.co.uk.
