Competences

The competences page of the application form asks for information on your primary medical qualification and about what you have been doing since you have completed medical school.

You are required to provide details of your primary medical qualification.

If your primary medical qualification is/was delivered by more than one university, you should include the start and end dates that cover the entirety of the course.

If you have not yet qualified, you must enter your expected date of qualification.

If you are studying for a UK primary medical qualification outside of the UK, for example at Newcastle University Medicine (NUMED) in Malaysia or St. George’s University, London (SGUL) at University of Nicosia in Cyprus, or at Queen Mary’s University London (QMUL) in Malta, please choose ‘Overseas Med School UK PMQ’ from the drop down menu and select your campus.

You must provide details of all your postgraduate activity/employment history between qualifying from medical school/university until the start of the Foundation Programme in August 2026.

If you completed or will complete clinical training equivalent to Foundation Year 1, before graduation from medical school, you must include this in your postgraduate activity/employment history.

If you have not yet qualified, you must give details of any planned activity/employment from the time you expect to qualify until the start of the Foundation Programme in August 2026.
