Revalidation

Doctors must regularly demonstrate to the GMC that they’re keeping their skills and knowledge up to date. This process is called revalidation. Every licensed doctor must revalidate to show they are fit to practise and maintain their licence to work in the UK. Further details are on the GMC’s revalidation webpage.

Form R in England, Northern Ireland and Wales, and SOAR (Scottish Online Appraisal Resource) in Scotland, are an essential part of the revalidation process for foundation doctors in training. Generic versions of the F1 and F2 Form R can be downloaded below for information only – the forms must be completed through the foundation e-portfolio. Consult the GMC website for information on how and when to complete your revalidation documentation.

Failure to appropriately complete a Form R/SOAR when requested may result in an Outcome 5 at ARCP.
