Prioritisation FAQs

Foundation Priority Programmes (FPP)

No, you do not need to withdraw your FPP application on Oriel.  You will be able to still see the FPP vacancy in Oriel, but it is no longer active, and the offers process for FPP will no longer take place.

Whether you withdraw your FPP application or not will have no bearing on your main FP application, your computer-generated rank and your allocation to a foundation school via PIA.

None of the FPP preferencing that you may have already completed will be carried over into the main FP allocation process. Preferencing groups and programmes for the main Foundation Programme (FP) is a completely separate process.

Not all foundation schools have FPPs. Refer to the list on the FPP webpage

Foundation schools will have finished the task of moving their FPP programmes into the main FP vacancy in Oriel by the end of February 2026. If you have any queries about particular programmes please contact the foundation school directly.

Some foundation schools may choose to use a specific FPP group in Oriel and this means that all (or some) of their FPPs will be in this group.  Each foundation school will determine locally which group they will move their FPPs into.

Applicants should refer to foundation school local websites and programme information for guidance. Guidance about groups and programmes is available on the UKFPO website.

Each foundation school will decide locally if their FPP programmes will retain the priority programme incentive, or if this will be removed. You should refer to foundation school local websites and programme information for guidance and contact a foundation school directly if you have any queries about specific priority programmes. Foundation school contact details are available on this webpage.

Your group and programme match is final, and applicants cannot change or swap their matched programme with another applicant. This applies to both FP, FPP and SFP programmes. You should contact your allocated foundation school directly with any queries you have about your training programme.
