Prioritisation FAQs

Pre-allocation

The Preference Informed Allocation method (PIA) will be used, and all applicants will receive a computer-generated rank.

When allocation takes place in Oriel, if there are more applicants in the priority group than there are places available, only the prioritised applicants will be allocated to a foundation school at this time. Non-prioritised applicants will remain un-allocated and will wait on a national reserve list. Further rounds of allocation will take place if vacancies arise.

If you are allocated to a foundation school in one of the later rounds of allocation, your pre-allocation could still be honoured, if a vacancy exists in the foundation school that you were approved for.

Yes. If you have been approved for pre-allocation and you are qualifying (or have qualified) with a primary medical qualification from one of the priority group countries, you will still be pre-allocated to the foundation school that you have been approved for.
