Non-urgent advice: Application submission information

Applications for pre-allocation must be submitted during the national application window alongside the main Foundation Programme application form on Oriel and by the deadline, which can be found within the UKFP 2026 application timeline.

A summary of the dates for the pre-allocation process are listed below, however, applicants should refer to the main UKFP 2026 application timeline for all relevant dates for the UKFP 2026 application process.

Pre-allocation applications and the required supporting evidence need to be submitted at the same time that the main FP application is submitted on Oriel.

The national application window for FP and FPP programmes opens on 24 September and closes 08 October 2025 12:00 midday (BST). Applications for pre-allocation must also be submitted on Oriel between 24 September – 08 October 2025 12:00 midday (BST).

Pre-allocation applications cannot be submitted after submission of the main FP application on Oriel or after the application window has closed. Pre-allocation applications must be submitted through the Oriel application system.

The national pre-allocation review panels will take place during November 2025.

Pre-allocation application outcomes will be released to applicants:

15 January 2026 (PM)

We apologise that due to circumstances outside of the control of the UKFPO, we have not been able to provide applicants with notice of when pre-allocation outcomes would be released

The deadline for applicants to withdraw from the pre-allocation process is

18 February 2026 (12:00 midday GMT).

Applicants must refer to the withdrawing from the pre-allocation process within the pre-allocation guidance and submit a withdrawal form by this deadline.
