Non-urgent advice: Important information about UKFP 2027 guidance

Please note that the updated 2027 Pre-allocation guidance and application forms will be available soon. In the meantime, you may wish to refer to the UKFP 2027 Key Changes webpage which summarises the changes to the UKFP 2027 application process.

All pre-allocation applications must be submitted on the UKFP 2026 pre-allocation application form. Application forms from previous years will not be accepted and the application will be rejected by the national review panel.

The maximum permitted number of characters that can be entered into different parts of the application forms are displayed within each section of the application form. This includes spaces between words. Additional words and information cannot be provided in a separate document.

The national panel will only accept and review the limits listed in the application forms.

Part 1 of the application is for completion by the applicant. Applicants are advised to refer to the guidance for the criterion they are applying under when they are in the process of completing their application form to ensure they are aware of the specific requirements and guidelines for that criterion.

Part 2 of the application form should be completed and signed by the person you have asked to be your supporting signatory. Applicants are advised to refer to the guidance for the criterion they are applying under to ensure that the person they have selected is an appropriate signatory and meets the requirements listed.

If there are circumstances which mean that you need to submit a letter or other document from your supporting signatory instead of them completing part 2 of the application form, this is permitted.  However, the letter/document provided must include all of the information that is requested in part 2 of the application form.  

If the required information has not been provided in the letter/document your application may be rejected by the review panel.

Any letter/document provided by the supporting signatory must be dated/issued within the last 12 months prior to the close of the national application window. Refer to application timeline for the application closing date).

Part 3 of the application does not contain any section that requires completion or a signature. However, the information provided should be read and understood by the applicant.
