Webinar: Myths and misconceptions about fitness to practice – UKFPO in conversation with the GMC

Virtual via Microsoft Teams.

Join us for an engaging and insightful webinar hosted by Dr Mike Masding, UKFPO National Clinical Director, as Mike explores myths and misconceptions about fitness to practice with Andrew Hoyle, GMC Assistant Director – Decisions.

This session will provide clarity on what fitness to practise really means, how concerns are assessed and what support is available for doctors in training. Andrew will address common misunderstandings and share how the GMC is working to ensure fairness, transparency and proportionality in its decision-making.

Whether you’re a foundation doctor curious about how the process works or an educator supporting resident doctors, this webinar will offer valuable insights into the realities behind fitness to practise investigations – and why most concerns don’t result in formal action.

There will be time for Q&A, so come prepared with your questions.

When: Wednesday 26 November, 18:00-19:00

Where: Virtual via Microsoft Teams. You do not need to pre-register, simply join the webinar at 18:00. The webinar will be recorded and uploaded to the UKFPO webinars webpage within two weeks of the webinar date.
