F2 Stand-alone programmes are recruited to through a UK-wide process managed by the UKFPO (information about this is on our F2 Stand-alone microsite).
All F2 Stand-alone programmes are one-year fixed-term posts. This means that doctors undertaking this programme are offered 12-months of foundation year 2 training, alongside those on two-year foundation programmes.
At the end of the 12-months, F2 Stand-alone doctors will receive either a:
- Foundation Programme Certificate of Competence (FPCC), subject to being issued an ARCP outcome 6, or
- a list of competencies achieved, if they are issued with an:
- ARCP outcome 4: Released from training programme
- Or an “Other” ARCP outcome with any of the N codes below:
- N21: Resignation without training issues
- N22: Resignation – with training issues
- N16: FD dismissed
F2 Stand-alone doctors are not eligible to be issued an ARCP outcome 3 or any of the “Other” N code not listed above, except in exceptional circumstances. Any exceptional circumstances will be managed by the foundation school and local postgraduate dean.
