The recruitment and selection process to F2 Stand-alone foundation training programmes aims to incorporate methods that are consistent and fair, transparent, and free from discrimination. The UKFPO endeavours to respond to the wishes and aspirations of healthcare professionals accessing our recruitment services. However, it is recognised that on occasion our service may fall short of expectations.
Complaints will be considered in relation to national processes only, that is, processes that are managed centrally by the UKFPO. For recruitment and selection to F2 Stand-alone programmes, the UKFPO is responsible for the application, longlisting, interviews and offers processes.
Non-urgent advice: Complaints procedure
All complaints must be submitted in writing by email to: helpdesk@foundationprogramme.nhs.uk.
Exclusions
The UKFPO excludes the following issues from its complaints process:
- If you disagree with the principle of the recruitment process, for example, use of digital processes rather than face to face recruitment
- If your complaint is not supported by any evidence to substantiate your allegation
- If you were judged not to have performed well enough to merit appointment to a training post purely on the basis of your score or rank in shortlisting or interview, or if you disagree with the outcome of the recruitment process, without evidence that the published process has not been followed
- If you wish to appeal against any decisions the UKFPO is obliged to take to remain within the appropriate legislative framework, for example, the requirement for registration with a regulatory body, right to work etc.
- If your complaint relates to published timelines or guidance regarding the provision of documentation, demonstrating eligibility criteria and accepting offers that you have failed to follow
- If you wish to complain about an operational issue that occurred on the day of an interview, for example, technical issue with an interview. Operational issues experienced on the day of the interview should ideally be raised on the day, or as soon as possible thereafter, by emailing helpdesk@foundationprogramme.nhs.uk.
Complaints regarding changes to programmes, pre-employment and induction activities should be directed to the foundation school and/or employing organisation.
